UAHS girls swimming wins 13th state championship

The Upper Arlington High School girls swimming team returned to the top of the podium at the 2024 state championships in Canton on February 25, winning its first team title since 2017.


The girls team completed a championship sweep in three relays: the 200 medley (Mary F., Maren B., Riley H. and Abigail O.); the 200 free (Lizzie O., Ashton M., Riley H. and Hayden H.); and the 400 free relay (Mary F., Lizzie O., Blaine H. and Riley H.). Senior Hayden H. also brought home an individual championship, winning the 50 free.


The boys swimming team finished their season state runners-up, with three third-place relay finishes in the 200 free, 400 free and 200 medley and a second place finish in the 500-yard freestyle by senior Reid C. 


This is the 13th state championship overall for the girls swimming program.
